- Choose Add to find a future date or Subtract to find a past date.
- Enter the number of working days to count forward or backward.

What the Custom Holiday Field Does
In the working days calculator, Saturday and Sunday are removed automatically. Public holidays are not included because they vary by country, region, and company policy; no calculator can know which ones apply to you.
The Custom Holidays field puts that control in your hands. Enter any date you want excluded national holidays, bank holidays, or company-specific closures one per line in YYYY-MM-DD format. The calculator removes each one from the working day count before returning your result.
Here is how the difference plays out in practice. Your date range contains 22 weekdays. Two of those fall on public holidays. Without entering those dates, the result shows 22 working days. With them entered, the correct result is 20.

This is the mode most business day tools skip entirely. Instead of counting days within a range, it finds the date that lands a specific number of business days away from your starting point.
Forward calculation.
You have a start date and need to know what date falls 15 working days later. Enter the start date, set the operation to Add, enter 15, and the calculator counts forward through the calendar, skipping every weekend and holiday, and returns the exact date.
Backward calculation.
You have a deadline and need to know the latest date to begin a task requiring 10 business days of preparation. Set the operation to Subtract, enter the deadline as your start date, enter 10, and the calculator counts backward to your preparation start date.
Both directions account for weekends and any holidays you have entered. The result includes how many calendar days were covered, how many weekend days were skipped, and how many holidays were excluded so you can see exactly how the answer was reached.
6-Day and 7-Day Workweek Support
Standard Monday-to-Friday does not apply everywhere. Retail, healthcare, logistics, and many international businesses operate on different schedules.
Uncheck Saturday in the Exclude Days section, and the calculator treats Saturday as a working day, giving you a 6-day workweek count. Uncheck both Saturday and Sunday, and every day of the week qualifies. The working day count adjusts to reflect your actual schedule rather than a default assumption.
